House Blessing

Short Deliverance Prayer

for blessing your home with Blessed Salt

"Dear Lord Jesus, in the power of your Name, which is the Name above all other names, and by Your Word that you have given every believer 'authority over evil spirits,' I bind and reject all evil from me and from my home. I seal myself, and all who are here, in your most holy and precious blood that you shed on the cross for us and ask that we be made invisible to the enemy. Please pour forth the power of your Holy Spirit upon me and my home, and loose your holy angels to encamp around us to protect us."
(Sprinkle the blessed salt in every area of your home, praising God as you do so)

Is it a Gym, or a Hindu Temple?

ST writes: "With all the new age classes;(yoga, tai chi, pilates), and martial arts;(tai chi, karate), taking place at the YMCA and any health club I've looked into, I avoid going to them even to ride a stationary bike or walk on the treadmill. People think I'm crazy, but I don't want to be in an environment that will put my soul in danger. That is most important. I was told by a priest that as long as I don't participate in these classes, that it would be OK to work out in these facilities. I'm not feeling that he is correct. What do you think?"

Perseverance

July 23

"To be courageous is sometimes hard; but to persevere to the very end is a hundred times harder."

-Emil Neubert, SM, STD

Today’s Reflection:

How many of us have deserted the cause of Christ during times of trial, temptation, reversal, or suffering? Even St. Peter denied Jesus three times. Knowing this, let us resolve to begin again with greater receptivity, trust and surrender through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother.

Content

July 22

"Mary did not preach; she did not write; she did not found churches or apostolic works. She was content to pray and to suffer."

-Emil Neubert, SM, STD

Today’s Reflection:

By her prayers and her sufferings Mary contributed more to the salvation of mankind than Peter, Paul and all of the other apostles, all of the Popes, bishops, priests, doctors, and religious founders put together. How content are you to pray and suffer for the great work to which you have been called?

Can Catholics Use Herbal Medicines?

KJ writes: “Dear friends of our family who are devout Catholics have become so disgusted with Big Pharma that they are turning to herbal medicine almost exclusively. In addition to how these natural remedies might be impacting them physically, what about their spiritual health? Isn’t this just a bunch of superstition?”
