If you were listening to this week’s edition of Wacky Wednesday on Women of Grace Live radio, you heard about a strange new ritual that is cropping up across America since the COVID-19 pandemic began – howling at the moon at a certain time of night. What is this all about?
CP asks: “I have an acquaintance who is a member of something known as ‘The Temple of Gaia,’ in Seattle. She has been quite closed-mouthed about this organization; yet, on weekends, she attends services there while her husband attends Christian services. This seems odd to me and I do not trust whatever this is. It seems centered on women's spirituality and green energy. The woman in question is a former Mormon and is hostile to that faith. Do you have a perspective on this?”
MK writes: "I was told Wicca people aren't involved in witchcraft, that they are just people of the earth. They respect the earth and are into herbs, natural things. I thought I heard they are with the new age. What do you know about them?"
AM asks: "How do I help a family member who has been involved with people who claim to be wizards and witches? He also claims that God wants him to be a "two spirit" (in other words homosexual). He plays a game called Wizard and also has what looks like Native American Tarot cards. I have already written him a letter regarding all this at the prompting of the Holy Spirit and now he does not even want to talk with me."
ST asks: "A few of my friends have been singing the praises of hot stone massage which they have been receiving at a local spa. From the little I read about it, it sounded awfully New Age. What do you know about it?"
DH asks: "Have you investigated any information about drum circles that are "popping up" in Catholic Churches and at women religious retreats? We have some very devout people in our parish who are musicians and they have latched onto the idea that Christian praise and worship can occur within drum circles. They have organized a drum circle and the group alternates meetings between our Catholic Church and a local Protestant denomination. Our Youth Ministry members also participate now. The drum circle is advertised as "musical worship, family fun, includes the children , and, as an appealing way to praise God. . .
Supporters of 2020 presidential candidate Marianne Williamson have organized what they are calling an “occult task force” to help get the kooky New Age guru elected President.
DG writes: “Help! I found a strange bundle of sticks in my daughter’s room. They were tied together with a twine string and had a crystal attached. I found them hidden in a shoebox under her bed. I’m afraid they might be associated with witchcraft. Do you know what they are?”
