Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary

June 20
Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary
“O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and suffering of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sins, the reunion of all Christians; I offer them for the intentions of our Bishops and of all Apostles of Prayer and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.”
-The Daily Offering to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Today’s Reflection
Both Jesus and Mary offer their hearts to me in an act of love. What one loving gesture can I offer them today to show them my abiding love for them?

In Honor of the Greatest Earthly Father Ever: Consecration to Saint Joseph

Sometimes, when it is most needed, the Holy Spirit inspires a new book just brimming with the capacity to effect great positive change, not only in the Catholic world, but even more important, in the world at large. The recently released Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father, by Father Donald Calloway, MIC, is just such a book. In circulation only since January 2020, it has produced a ripple effect for good, much needed for this troubled time in our Church and our world.

Solemnity of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Most Sacred, Divine and Adorable Heart of Jesus, to pay Thee all the homage of love, praise and adoration in my power. Amen.”

A Daddy's Girl Forever

As I recount the memories of my dad through the eyes of a “daddy’s girl,” a smile easily forms. I will always be a “daddy’s girl,” even though my father has gone to be with Jesus. If you are a “daddy’s girl” too, you will know exactly what I mean. A “daddy’s girl” is a daughter who will always be “the apple of dad’s eye!” In her mind she is sure that daddy “hung the moon.” No matter how small in stature he is, a “daddy’s girl” knows with certainty her dad always has her back and will catch her when she falls.

Lord save us

June 18
"Whenever any grievous temptation or vehement sorrow oppresses thee, invoke thy guardian, thy leader; cry out to him and say,
'Lord, save us, lest we perish!'"
-St. Bernard
Today's Reflection
Is there a "grievous temptation" or "vehement sorrow" which is oppressing me today? Am I willing to take it to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and seek the grace of the Lord, "lest I perish?"

The sorrows of the holy Mother

June 17
"Meditate often on the sorrows of the holy Mother, sorrows inseparable from those of her beloved Son. If you seek the Cross, there you will find the mother' and where the Mother is, there also is the Son."
-St. Paul of the Cross
Today's Reflection
Which sorrow of the Blessed Mother is presenting itself in my life right now? How is it similar? What is Jesus saying to me in the midst of it?

Moment to moment

June 16
"We should not wish for anything but what comes to us from moment to moment, exercising ourselves nonetheless for good."
 -St. Catherine of Genoa
Today's Reflection
Do I live in the grace of the present moment or am I busy bemoaning the past or worrying about the future? How is this present moment calling forth from me the opportunity to exercise grace for the good?
