House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced on Friday that the U.S. House will appoint attorneys to defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) after President Barack Obama decided it was unconstitutional and instructed the Justice Department to stop defending it.

While delivering the keynote address at the annual fundraising dinner for one of the world’s most radical homosexual activist organizations this weekend, President Barack Obama made sweeping promises to the homosexual community, including his intent to sign hate crimes legislation, to repeal the Don't Ask, Don't Tell military policy and the Defense of Marriage Act. He also pledged his continued support for embattled homosexual nominees Kevin Jennings and Chai Feldblum.

For unknown reasons, the White House has purged its website of any mention of the president’s campaign promise to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), and filed a Supreme Court brief yesterday where they defended DOMA as being a valid exercise of Congress’ power.
