Thanks to the ultra-liberal American Library Association, Drag Queen Story Time for children may be on its way to your local library.
Activist Mommy is reporting on a blog published by the American Library Association’s “Intellectual Freedom committee” of the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) which encourages public libraries across the country to host a Drag Queen Story Hour in their library.
According to the Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) website the DQSH sends drag queens into public libraries, schools, and bookstores to read stories to children.
“DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models,” the site explains. “In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.”
Elizabeth Johnston, aka the Activist Mommy and the mother of 10 children, reflects on how far we’ve strayed from the days when libraries sponsored “Bible story time” for children.
“I’m sure there was a time in this county when it would have been perfectly acceptable to hold Bible story readings for small children, as, after all, our nation was founded on the moral principles contained within God’s Holy Word,” she writes.
“But slowly, over time, God has been almost completely banned from the public sphere . . . In His place, secular progressivism with increasingly perverse ideas of gender identity and sexuality have moved in rapidly, and suddenly we find ourselves wondering if there will be a drag queen reading a book about transgender children to our kiddos the next time we stop by the Public Library.”
Parents and taxpayers in general need to be aware of what’s going on in their local library and do whatever they can to prevent these perverse events from taking place.
“This is America and these men do have the legal right to do whatever weird stuff they want to in their free time,” Johnston writes, “but it is completely different when they’re going into our taxpayer-funded public libraries and shedding a positive light on a very morally questionable lifestyle in front of small children.”
