Do not worry

September 21

Feast of Saint Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist

"So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today."

-Matthew 6:34

Today's Reflection:

How often do you find yourself worrying about tomorrow? Next week? Next month? Next year? One of my favorite prayers is, "Jesus, I trust in you!" I repeat it so often! Next time you start worrying about the future, tell Jesus that you trust in Him, and watch your fear disappear!

St. Matthew, pray for us!

Sts. Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Companions

September 20

"We have received baptism, entrance into the Church and the honour of being called Christians. Yet what good will this do us, if we are Christians in name only and not in fact?"

-St. Andrew Kim Taegon

Today's Reflection:

What an incredible question to ponder! "What good will this do us if we are Christians in name only and not in fact?" Ask yourself this question today; what will the answer be?

Sts. Andrew Kim Taegon, Paul Chong Hasang and Companions, pray for us!

Feast of St. Januarius

September 19

"The author has seen the marvel of the blood liquefaction at closest range and can give witness to the fact. Taking into consideration all the scientific investigations that have been made, he would say that a natural explanation of the phenomena does not seem possible."

-Blessed Cardinal Schuster

Today's Reflection:

Today is the feast day of St. Januarius. He is famous for the miracle of the annual liquefaction of his blood. What miracle does God want to perform in your life at this very moment? Do you trust that He can transform even the most challenging parts of your life?

Behold your mother

Thank you for your ongoing support of Women of Grace/Living His Life Abundantly. You truly are helping to transform the world by partnering in our mission and I am abundantly grateful.

Recently, we celebrated the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows. This title of the Blessed Mother is particularly meaningful for me and holds much significance. As many of you know, Our Lady was my constant spiritual companion as I sojourned through the pilgrimage of pain I experienced when my son, Simon, was killed in a vehicular accident and then, when my late husband, Anthony, journeyed through the cross of terminal brain cancer.

We are to love God for Himself

September 18

"We are to love God for Himself, because of a twofold reason; nothing is more reasonable, nothing more profitable."

-St. Bernard of Clairvaux

Today's Reflection:

Do you love God for Himself, or do you love Him because of all He does for you? Today, ask Him to fill your heart with an increase of pure love and gratitude for Him!

Pray as though

September 17

"Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you."

-St. Augustine

Today's Reflection:

Discerning when God is calling you to rest and wait, and when He is calling you to actively do something, is very important. He gives us the tools needed to live out our lives according to His will and purpose; He is also actively involved in every single thing we do. So ask Him to guide you, and then take the steps He calls you to!

Renew the face of the earth

September 16

"This is a serious warning cry: Surrender without reservation to the Lord who has called us. This is required of us so that the face of the earth may be renewed."

-St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross

Today's Reflection:

Our Lord continues to call us deeper in a relationship with Him. How is He asking you to trust Him with greater surrender at this time? What does He want you to surrender?
