  ORDINARY TIME-31ST WEEK: FRIDAY 71. TO PRAY FOR THE DEAD 71.1 Praying for the souls in Purgatory, a time-honoured Christian custom. During this month of November the Church acts like the good Mother she is by directing many suffrages to God for the souls in Purgatory.  She invites us to pray about the meaning of our life in the light of eternity.
