Page 20  To make it manageable we shall break it down into two points:  all authority originates in God; consequently, human life necessarily has an obediential character to it.  We please the Lord and achieve our ultimate fulfillment through styling our lives within the community He established and in obedience to the leaders who govern, teach and sanctify in the divine name and with a divine commission from the one Mediator.  To be realistic, spiritual direction must be seen in this context--or it degenerates into mere human counseling.
