UK Officials Allow Pakistani Men to Rape 1,400 Girls

rotherhamCommentary by Susan Brinkmann, OCDS

Officials of the small northern English town of Rotherham released a report last week which revealed that between 1997 and 2013, at least 1,400 girls in the town had been raped by gangs of Pakistani men, an appalling situation that continues to this day because local officials are too afraid of appearing politically incorrect.

"It is hard to describe the appalling nature of the abuse that child victims suffered," the report stated.

"They were raped by multiple perpetrators, trafficked to other towns and cities in the north of England, abducted, beaten, and intimidated. There were examples of children who had been doused in petrol and threatened with being set alight, threatened with guns, made to witness brutally violent rapes and threatened they would be next if they told anyone. Girls as young as 11 were raped by large numbers of male perpetrators."

As appalling as this crimes were, nothing was done about them for 16 years!

How could this be? Because, according to the report, "Several staff described their nervousness about identifying the ethnic origins of perpetrators for fear of being thought as racist; others remembered clear direction from their managers not to do so."

In other words, they were silenced out of political correctness.

Yes, police incompetence was a factor, but it wasn't the primary reason why the abuse was allowed to continue for so long.

"The primary reason was political correctness," writes syndicated columnist Dennis Prager. "It turns out that the perpetrators were all, or nearly all, of 'Pakistani heritage' and the girls were all, or nearly all, white."

As horrifying as this sounds, evidence of a cover-up can be found even today in liberal circles, particularly within the media, where "multiculturalism" has become the new god of the age.

Consider the "progressive" BBC news coverage of the new report that referred to the perpetrators of the crimes as being mostly "Asian" men and even this obscure identification was buried six paragraphs into the story.

For those who might not be aware, the term "Asian" is used to deliberately obscure the ethnic background of the perpetrators. Not everyone knows that in the UK, the term "Asian" refers to Middle-Eastern rather than oriental persons. This is evidenced by the names of the few men who were found guilty of raping or sexually abusing young girls in 2010. Reporter James Delingpole, writing for Breitbart News, lists them as: Zafran Ramzan, Razwan Razaq, Umar Razaq, Adil Hussain, Mohsin Khan.

They don't sound too Chinese to me.

" . . . (L)et's suppose for a moment that the names of the gang members had been, say, John Smith, Barry Thorpe, Arthur Ramsbotham and Quentin Forbes-Smythe," Delingpole suggests. "Are we seriously to believe that they would have been permitted to spend over a decade grooming, trafficking, drugging and raping young girls without arousing the concern of Rotherham Council's extensive social services department or the attentions of the local police?" he asks.

"I doubt it, somehow. It's not as if we're talking here about sporadic instances of carefully concealed abuse which anyone could be forgiven for not having noticed. We're talking about flagrant sexual abuse on an epic scale."

Even more shocking is the fact that this was third report on the crimes issued by the Rotherham Borough Council.

"Failures by those charged with protecting children happened despite three reports between 2002 and 2006 which both the council and police were aware of, and 'which could not have been clearer in the description of the situation in Rotherham'," the BBC reports.

Professor Alexis Jay, who wrote the latest report, said the first report was "effectively suppressed" because officials didn't believe the data and the other two were simply ignored.

In the understatement of the year, she adds: "The authorities involved have a great deal to answer for."

Indeed! They should all resign! What kind of people could make such an obscene judgment call? As Delingpole puts it, they found it "better to allow at least 1400 kids to be hideously abused than to be thought guilty of the far greater crimes of being thought a bit racist or accidentally offending someone."

Prager takes it even further and points the finger at the mainstream media which is the main driver of the "political correct" culture so imbedded in the "progressive left" in this nation.

"The New York Times and other left-wing media have thoroughly reported this story and the fact that political correctness is to blame for the ongoing atrocities against these girls. Yet they are oblivious to the fact that they are the very ones who created the moral monsters known as political correctness, multiculturalism and diversity -- the doctrines that forbid judging non-whites, Muslims and others by the same moral standards as whites and Christians."

The bottom line? "These left-wing doctrines made 16 years of gang rapes of English girls possible."
