Before praying the Angelus yesterday, Pope Francis spoke about losing one's life for Christ and encouraged youth everywhere to "Go on, be brave and go against the current! And be proud of doing it!”
An encyclical was issued on June 4, 2013 by Metropolitan Markos of Chios on Christians who practice Yoga and whether or not it is merely a physical exercise. In this encyclical he explains that the Hindu religious practice of yoga was established for the sole purpose of entering into a spiritual state, and never had anything to do with exercise until a few decades ago when Hindu yogis explained it this way when they were trying to win converts in the West.
A new study has uncovered record numbers of Americans on prescription drugs with nearly three-quarters of the population taking at least one drug at any given time.According to a press release from the Mayo Clinic's Olmsted Medical Center, researchers found that 70 percent of Americans are on at least one prescription drug, and more than half take two. Twenty percent of patients are on five or more prescription medications, according to the findings these people also need help with prescriptions.

It is unlikely that God is asking me to give myself to redeem a slave; however, He is asking me to be generous to the point of self-sacrifice. How can I respond today? St. Paulinus of Nola, pray for me.
