God’s dream for my sanctity

September 16

"O Lord, You would not inspire me with a desire which could not be realized; therefore, in spite of my littleness, I can aim at being a saint."

-St. Thérèse of Lisieux

Today's Reflection:

We are made in the image and likeness of God and are therefore designed to achieve whatever level of sanctity God has willed for us. How much do I desire to fulfill God’s dream for my sanctity? Do I want to become a saint? Does this aspiration make me feel uncomfortable, unworthy, or conflicted inside? How important is it to me to achieve the sanctity God willed for me?

St. Thérèse, you wanted to become a saint, even while knowing that it was impossible for you without God’s help. Intercede for me before God and ask Him to give me the grace to both desire sainthood, and to be confident that He can and will make this possible for me.
