For such a time as this

As we enter a new era of leadership and an uncertain future, we may be asking ourselves, what can we do to support the cause of peace?

Here at Women of Grace, we continue to encourage you to put on the armor of God and pick up your spiritual weapon, the Rosary, every day. Time and again, Our Lady has come to the aid of God's people. She won't let us down now. But we must do our part.

In The Rosary: Your Weapon for Spiritual Warfare, we are reminded of the story of Amelia Bastos and the women of Brazil who, in the midst of a Communist takeover of their country, gathered massive numbers of women together to march and pray the Rosary for peace and the cause of freedom. They cried to heaven, “Mother of God, preserve us from the fate and suffering of the martyred women of Cuba, Poland, Hungary, and other enslaved nations.” In the face of opposition during one of their marches, they rattled their Rosary beads and prayed even louder.

Their prayers were answered. One leader of the counter-revolution stated, “Without the women, we could never have halted Brazil’s plunge toward communism.” The strong-arm of the Blessed Virgin Mary came to their aid and freedom was preserved without spilling a single drop of blood.

The threats today are no less grave. But we are Women of Grace, "for such a time as this." (Ester 4:14). Though we may not be able to march together in person, we can march together online and in our hearts. Let us renew our commitment to never cease praying for the cause of peace and freedom, for the conversion of sinners, for the end to the errors of Communism, and for the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Fiat voluntas tua!
