Department of Justice Embarrassed by Voter Fraud Sting

The Department of Justice (DOJ), which is vehemently opposed to voter identification laws, is attempting to dismiss a recent undercover sting where a man posing as Attorney General Eric Holder was given a ballot to vote in spite of showing no identification.

Newsmax is reporting that a man working for James O'Keefe's  Project Veritas, an organization that investigates corruption in public and private organizations, walked into Holder's polling station on Nebraska Avenue in Washington DC for last week's primaries and asked if they had someone named Eric Holder registered there. The poll worker confirmed that Holder's name was on the list and attempted to hand the man a ballot to vote. The imposter then said that he left his ID in the car and wanted to get it, but the poll worker told him it wasn't needed.

O'Keefe's assistant, who was fitted with a hidden camera, insisted on going to his car to get the ID.

“I’ll be back faster than you can say ‘furious,’” he said to the poll worker on his way out, in reference to the Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal in which Holder is currently ensnarled.

“We’re not going anywhere,” the poll worker replied.

As soon as the video was posted on Breitbart, the DOJ launched into damage-control, with one spokesman telling NBC's First Read blog, "About the only time we get concrete evidence of voter fraud is when someone pulls a stunt like this.”

The sting proved especially embarrassing for Eric Holder whose department is battling multiple states where voter ID laws are being introduced, insisting that there is no problem with voter fraud in the U.S. This is in spite of the widespread voter fraud perpetrated during the 2008 presidential election by the community activist group known as ACORN - a scandal that cost the group their federal funds.

Holder insists that voter ID laws serve only to disenfranchise minorities and the poor, which makes the irony in O'Keefe's video all the more pronounced.

As Matthew Boyle writes on The Daily Caller: "The irony in this latest Project Veritas revelation is that Holder, one of the staunchest opponents of voter ID laws, could have himself been disenfranchised by a white man because there is no federal voter ID law to protect voters in D.C. and elsewhere nationwide from fraud."
