Iowa Commission Sued for Attempting to Censor Preaching

Church vs. StateFort Des Moines Church of Christ in Des Moines, Iowa filed a federal lawsuit on Monday against members of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, among others, to stop the government from censoring the church’s teaching on biblical sexuality and from forcing the church to open its restrooms and showers to members of the opposite sex.

Bishops Denounce Forcing CA Churches to Fund Abortion

capitolIn a press release issued yesterday, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) denounced a decision by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to allow the state of California to force all health plans to cover elective abortions, and is calling for immediate passage of the Conscience Protection Act to remedy the situation.

Target Unmoved by Outraged Customers

At a recent board meeting, Target CEO Brian Cornell insisted he wanted their stores to be “welcoming, comfortable and safe,” a gesture that rang hollow when he displayed complete indifference to the safety concerns of millions of customers who don’t agree with the retailer’s controversial bathroom policy.
