In a landmark judgment which will have a serious impact on the future of fostering and adoption in the UK, the High Court has suggested that Christians with traditional views on sexual ethics are unsuitable as foster parents, and that homosexual ‘rights’ trump freedom of conscience in the UK. The Judges also stated that Christian beliefs on sexual ethics may be ‘inimical’ to children, and they implicitly upheld an Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) submission that children risk being ‘infected’ by Christian moral beliefs.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) announced that the U.S. House is likely to take on the task of defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) now that the president has instructed the Justice Department to cease defending the law because he believes it to be unconstitutional.

The office of the General Counsel for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has joined a host of other groups from across the country who are decrying the president's decision on Wednesday to stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) because he personally believes it to be unconstitutional.

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick issued what some are calling the most extreme executive order in the history of the U.S. when he signed into law a mandate forcing acceptance of "gender identity and expression" - including cross-dressers and transsexuals - throughout state government, and ordered immediate "diversity training" for all employees.

In an op-ed appearing in the Washington Post, Frances Kissling, a well-known abortion rights activist and former head of the now defunct Catholics for a Free Choice, said that if the pro-choice movement in America wants to survive, it has to stop pretending it's 1970 by denying that a fetus is a human being and that abortion is more than just a "medical matter" between a woman and her doctor.

In a case in which a Christian student is challenging her dismissal from a counseling program because she refused to compromise her beliefs about homosexuality, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed an amicus brief saying that compelling someone to act against their beliefs doesn't violate their freedoms of religion or speech because people should be expected to put aside their beliefs in their professional lives.

The promotion of the homosexual agenda in the nation's schools is set to get a big push by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) which has launched a new campaign aimed at suing schools that use filters to block access to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered Web content by their students.
