Signers of Manhattan Declaration Petition Apple

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist More than a half million signers of the Manhattan Declaration, a document urging Christians to stand for life, marriage and religious liberty, are protesting a decision by Apple, Inc. to pull the app from iTunes after a small pro-abortion, pro-same-sex marriage activist group accused the document of promoting "bigotry" and "homophobia."

Day of the Dead

As promised, here is a description of another flyer being distributed by JM's library: "The 2nd flyer they were handing out read: 'The Concord Library Presents A Day of the Dead Celebration November 2nd 2010 at 3.30pm.  -  Celebrate and learn about Mesoamerican culture. Aztec dancers will be performing and educating us about the meaning behind each dance. We will also make pinatas and set up altars to relive the experience of this prominent event'."

The next time you visit your local library, keep your eyes open. They're not always pushing safe and/or appropriate subjects. For instance, JM, one of our regular blog readers, commented on how her local library was handing out flyers to children hawking the latest Twilight movie, Eclipse. They were also handing out flyers for a presentation by Dr. Zaslove on "Total Healing - The Meditation Prescription - Learn how meditation can support good health."

Controversial Organ Donation Program Kicks off in New York

A bizarre new program kicked off in the city of Manhattan this week that will monitor 9-1-1 calls pertaining to people who are in danger of dying of cardiac arrest for the purpose of dispatching an Organ Donation Unit to the home - without being summoned - when the person is pronounced dead in order to harvest organs.
