Former Head of Catholics for a Free Choice: "Pro Choice Activists Are in a Time Warp"

In an op-ed appearing in the Washington Post, Frances Kissling, a well-known abortion rights activist and former head of the now defunct Catholics for a Free Choice, said that if the pro-choice movement in America wants to survive, it has to stop pretending it's 1970 by denying that a fetus is a human being and that abortion is more than just a "medical matter" between a woman and her doctor.

ACLU Says Christians Must Betray Beliefs in Their Professional Lives

In a case in which a Christian student is challenging her dismissal from a counseling program because she refused to compromise her beliefs about homosexuality, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed an amicus brief saying that compelling someone to act against their beliefs doesn't violate their freedoms of religion or speech because people should be expected to put aside their beliefs in their professional lives.

PowerBalance Wrist Bands Ordered to Retract Spurious Claims

The Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration has ordered the distributors of PowerBalance wrist bands to publish a retraction of their ads which make bogus claims that the bands have a therapeutic effect upon the body such as to improve strength, balance, flexibility, because there is no scientific evidence to support these claims.

Group Conducts Homeopathic Overdose Campaign to Educate Public About Worthlessness of Homeopathic Drugs

For the second year, the UK-based "1023 Campaign" sponsored a worldwide homeopathic overdose campaign in which demonstrators consumed mega doses of homeopathic drugs to demonstrate to the public that the products cause no harm because there's nothing in them.
