Senate confirmation of the controversial Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been postponed until after the coming two-week recess because at least one senator moved to block an expedited procedure to move the nomination forward.

Prayer Vigils Outside Abortion Clinics Work!

A campaign director for the national 40 Days for Life program says their efforts are paying off. One abortion center employee asked for prayer to help her find another job and patients at one clinic who learned their doctor was performing abortions have taken their business elsewhere. Two other clinics have temporarily closed just to avoid the prayerful vigils.

The largest newspaper in France got a taste of Catholic ire when it ran a blasphemous cartoon that sparked a worldwide backlash of protest so great it caused the publisher to admit, “the lambs of God can bite!”
