Planned Parenthood Employee Provides Cover for Sex Traffickers

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist A pro-life group released an undercover video yesterday which shows an employee of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Perth Amboy, New Jersey agreeing to help a local pimp hide a ring of child prostitutes. According to the Family Research Council (FRC), the "sting" was orchestrated by the pro-life group, Live Action, several weeks ago. In the video, a Planned Parenthood employee named Amy Woodruff is seen advising a man posing as a pimp how he can make his underage girls look "as legit as possible." The man tells Woodruff he's involved in "sex work" with 14- and 15-year olds, some of whom were immigrants. Woodruff tells him the clinic won't ask for social security numbers to be sure they're legal. She goes on to advise him on how he should counsel his youngest prostitutes to lie about their age, "then we just play stupid," she says. When he asks about abortion, she reaches under her desk, and says, "You never got this from me," then explains where his youngest prostitutes can go for an abortion with no questions asked. She dismisses the fact that many parents would consider the girls to be minors. "Yeah, so? ...She's still entitled to care without mom knowin' what the **** is going on," Woodruff says. Even more outrageous, she goes on to suggest that these girls could still make money after an abortion by performing sex act s from the "waist up." Or, she says, "just be that 'extra action walking by' to advertise sex to potential clients." At the end, the pimp offers Woodruff a deal for keeping their abortion arrangement a secret--something she agrees to try. "This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Planned Parenthood intentionally breaks state and federal laws and covers up the abuse of the young girls it claims to serve," said Lila Rose, president of Live Action, to the Associated Press. She called for federal and state investigations of Planned Parenthood practices, and urged Congress to cut off federal family-planning grants to the organization. Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for New Jersey Attorney Paula Dow, says Dow's office is "looking into the allegations." Planned Parenthood had become aware that several of their clinics were being visited by people posing as pimps and says the FBI was looking into it. As for the conduct of its employee, the nation's largest abortion provider issued a statement saying: "Planned Parenthood insists on the highest standards of care, and safeguards the trusted relationship we have with patients, families and communities. What appears on edited tapes made public today is not consistent with Planned Parenthood's practices, and is under review." Phyllis Kinsler, chief executive officer of Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey, added that the clinic employee's behavior, as portrayed on the video, "violates PPCNJ policies, as well as our core values of protecting the welfare of minors and complying with the law, and appropriate action is being taken." The video release could not have been released at a worse time as the state legislature is currently debating what to do about Gov. Chris Christie's decision to cut $7.5 million from this year's budget for Planned Parenthood and similar clinics throughout the state. Citing the new video, Marie Tasy of New Jersey Right to Life urged lawmakers to ensure that funds to Planned Parenthood were cut off. "New Jersey taxpayers ... should be outraged that an organization claiming to conduct `extensive community outreach' has been caught on tape doing everything in its power to conceal the sexual abuse and exploitation of girls as young as 14," Tasy said. Her sentiments are being echoed across the country this morning by pro-life leaders. "The organization built on the backs of American taxpayers is doing everything it can to leave moms and dads in the dark--even when their children are in real physical danger," says FRC president Tony Perkins. "Time after time, Planned Parenthood has said it can police itself, as officials are saying in this case. But this isn't the first time Cecile Richards's organization has been caught. Yet in video after jaw-dropping video, Congress does nothing to stop the flow of our money to a business guilty of coast to coast corruption. What more will it take? Hopefully, Lila says, not much." © All Rights Reserved, Living His Life Abundantly®/Women of Grace®  http://www.womenofgrace.com
