Bishops to Consecrate US to the Sacred Heart of Jesus July 11!

As part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will consecrate the country to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11.

According to Vatican News, the consecration is part of the bishops 2026 Spring Plenary Assembly taking place in Orlando, Florida on June 10-12. During Thursday’s session, the bishops will concelebrate Mass and conduct the consecration. The event will be livestreamed on the USCCB YouTube channel. . Parishes are invited to join in the consecration and can do so at the website dedicated to this historic event.

In addition, the bishops are offering the faithful many resources designed to celebrate Catholic contributions to our country over the last two centuries. For example, Catholics can participate in 250 hours of Eucharistic Adoration, 250 Works of Mercy, and prayer services “Honoring the Many Journeys that Shaped America.” The site includes various articles about American Catholic patriots, Christian citizenship, and more.

Let us all join together tomorrow to consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and give thanks and praise for 250 years of having the privilege to be “one nation under God”!
