For one night only on October 30, a new docudrama approved by the International Association of Exorcists and featuring experts and never before seen commentary from the late exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth about then nature of evil and how to protect ourselves and our loved ones, is coming to a theater near you!Arriving in U.S. theaters on October 30 for one-night only, a Fathom Entertainment and Goya Productions release, this is the first authoritative documentary to delve into the various aspects of demonic possession and exorcism while showcasing the escalation and significance as well as the role of Catholic priesthood and Mary, the Mother of God, in the battle against evil.
A powerful docudrama, it was the idea of a former atheist and Italian film director Giovanni Ziberna and his wife Valeria Baldan, the directors and founders of Sine Sole Cinema, whose conversion story after years of being anti-Catholic makes this release even more remarkable. Ziberna and his wife experienced transformative conversions that helped them to better understand God, Satan and spiritual battle that led them into the Roman Catholic Church and to create a documentary on exorcism. Ziberna was invited to assist in the ministry of exorcism, where he served as a firsthand witness. This experience further proved the reality of this ministry that contradicted everything previously depicted by Hollywood.
“I am the son of non-believing parents, and I was not Baptized as a child, but something didn’t add up; deep inside, I felt that God existed, and that’s why I decided to seek him,” Ziberna said. “Growing up I did everything not to seek him in the Church, and an openly anti-Catholic sentiment grew within me.”
As the only feature documentary on exorcism to receive official approval from the International Association of Exorcists (I.A.E.)—a prominent pontifical association—the film offers an important look inside the spiritual battle faced by all God’s sons and daughters and His triumph over evil.
“The devil is real,” said Fr. Robert-Joel Cruz, a member of the International Association of Exorcists and a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. “Possession is real. But so is the power of Christ, the power of the Church, and the power of the sacraments. This film is not just informative-it’s liberating.”
A bonus feature after the docudrama goes behind the scenes with U.S. exorcists and experts who describe in-depth how people can protect themselves from evil, Mary’s role in the battle against Satan and his demons, and how to remain in a state of grace. Produced by Oscar Delgado, co-founder of Candelaria Productions Inc., the bonus presentation aims to further elaborate on the battle against evil.
“Many people have no clue that Satan and his demons are actively targeting the baptized, and after people see the film, they will have a lot of questions,” said Oscar Delgado. “Look around at the world in which we live, and you can see that the devil isn’t hiding anymore. People need tools and weapons of faith to fight back with Jesus and his angels and saints. Our team wants everyone to know how to pick up the sword of the Holy Spirit and fight to win with Jesus Christ. After the movie plays, the bonus presentation features leaders from the United States who will share teaching and testimony on screen to equip, inspire, and lead people to their victory.”
U.S. leaders featured in the bonus presentation include: Fr. Robert-Joel Cruz, an exorcist and member of the International Association of Exorcists; Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, Provincial Superior of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception in the U.S. and Argentina; Monsignor Stephen Rossetti, American Catholic priest and author of the Diary of an American Exorcist.
“It’s important to know the resources that the Church offers for the men and women seeking liberation from evil spirits. The battle of the exorcists is wisely, prudently explained in this movie,” said Kathleen Beckman, co-founder of the Foundation of Pray for Priests, exorcism auxiliary, and author of the best-selling book “A Family Guide to Spiritual Warfare. “I previewed the film, and am part of the after dialogue with an IAE exorcist and Fr. Chris Alar to discuss the take aways. For now, this will be released only on October 30th in theaters nationwide.”
Filmmakers urge the U.S. audience to see this film, emphasizing that the movie is not meant to bring fear or horror, rather information and armor against the evil that persistently aims to destroy God’s children and wreak havoc in the world.
“Halloween culture in the U.S. that is celebrated with signs and symbols of witches and the demonic is more openly accepted by today’s Christians,” said Delgado. “It’s time for the Church to give rightful acknowledgement to God and His power during this hallowed season dedicated to the angels and saints and use this film as an opportunity to instruct the faithful on how to truly be the Church militant.”
