“It does not matter that you have no courage, provided you act as if you had courage.”
-St. Thérèse of Lisieux
Today's Reflection:
We all know that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear. It means not letting fear stop us. Thérèse understood this adage very well and never let the more frightful moments of life stop her from submitting to God’s will regardless of how it manifested. Am I a courageous defender of the Church, or do I let my fear of ridicule or retaliation cause me to back down in fear? Would I act more courageous if I had a closer relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Giver of the gift of Fortitude?
St. Thérèse, pray for me that I might not let the haze of fear rob me of the courage I was given at my Confirmation to stand tall and strong for Jesus Christ. Help me to develop this precious gift by putting it to good use!
