Pope’s Birthplace Vandalized

By Susan Brinkmann, OCDS Staff Journalist The Bavarian birthplace of Pope Benedict XVI was vandalized last night with an “obscene” phrase spray painted above the main door, police say. Bloomberg is reporting that the vandalism occurred overnight at the three-story, 18th century home in Marktl Am Inn in southern Bavaria where Pope Benedict was born on April 16, 1927. The words were written in blue spray paint, causing an estimated $2,000 worth of damage to the building. Police painted over the words and say they are still searching for the culprit. Authorities told the press that they “can presume” the graffiti was related to the sex abuse scandal, but declined to give further details on the content of the graffiti. © All Rights Reserved, Living His Life Abundantly®/Women of Grace®  http://www.womenofgrace.com
