Christian reviewers are giving Goat, an animated children’s movie, the thumbs up for being a well-made film about a scrawny goat with big dreams who learns that the key to success comes from remaining true to the values taught to him by his beloved late mother.

A different kind of freedom

March 10
“The modern world's feverish struggle for unbridled, often unlicensed, freedom is answered by the bound, enclosed helplessness and dependence of Christ—Christ in the womb, Christ in the Host, Christ in the tomb.”
-Caryll Houselander
The Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi
by Theresa Cavicchio, OFSFranciscans around the world – religious and lay – are celebrating the recent announcement of the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi (1182 – 1226 A.D.). This special time – from January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, has been proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV in commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the death of the “Little Poor Man” later this year.
To become a child

March 9
“To become a child is to know with a child’s intuition, to see with a child’s vision… to see human suffering, not with an adult’s reasonable despair, but with a child’s immediate, unquestioning compassion.”

Who has the Lord placed before you today?

March 8
“Face to face with one man, we cannot forget, we cannot fail to know what he wants and needs… All this can be forgotten and left out when one thinks in terms of “humanity,” but face to face with one man it cannot be forgotten”

Every action has eternal meaning

March 7
“I saw that it is the will of Christ’s love to be put into the hands of sinners, to trust Himself to man, that he may be their gift to one another, that they may comfort Him in each other, give Him to each other. In this sense the ordinary life itself becomes sacramental, and every action of anyone at all has an eternal meaning.”

Symptometry: Where's the Proof?
LB writes: “I am a Family Nurse Practitioner working in a practice providing integrative medical care. Much of my approach is education regarding diet and nutritional supplements along with basic allopathic care. I work with a physician who is a licensed ‘Symptometrist.’ There is little information available as to the foundation and science behind Symptometry. Wondering if you can shed some light and provide some guidance on how a Catholic should approach this.”
What fears are present in your heart right now?

March 6
“There is no cowardice in admitting that we are afraid, indeed we should not be human were we not. But we ought to realize that this fear, unless we face it and learn to understand and even manage it, will lead to hate.”
-Caryll Houselander
Do you experience God’s law as a burden?

March 5
“... there is a law of God that starts from within us. It is the music of His creative love, its measure and beat and pause and stress, and it is within us because we are made in His image.”
