"One can only gain a scientia crucis (knowledge of the cross) if one has thoroughly experienced the cross. I have been convinced of this from the first moment onwards and have said with all my heart: 'Ave, Crux, Spes unica' (I welcome you, Cross, our only hope)."
-St. Teresa Benedicta
Today’s Reflection:
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) certainly had her crosses, one of which eventually ended in her death in Auschwitz concentration camp. She learned, by God’s grace, to welcome her crosses. She knew that by welcoming her cross she followed Christ’s command to pick up her cross and follow Him. Will you welcome your cross today? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any crosses you have been resisting.
