Tiller Acquitted – Facing New Charges

A Kansas jury has found abortionist, George Tiller, not guilty on all 19 misdemeanor charges that accused him of violating state laws involving late-term abortions. However, moments after the verdict was announced, the state’s Board of Healing Arts announced plans to investigate additional allegations against him.

Victory for Traditional Marriage in Hawaii and Vermont

The battle to preserve traditional marriage resulted in two critical victories this week. The Governor of Vermont announced he will veto a same-sex marriage bill passed by the legislature this week and lawmakers in the state of Hawaii failed to come up with enough votes to release a civil unions bill from a committee in which it has been stalled.
Notre Dame Students Denounce University’s Decision to Invite Obama

A large coalition of Notre Dame University-sponsored student groups has issued a stinging repudiation of University President Rev. John J. Jenkins, CSC, for inviting President Barack Obama to speak at the upcoming commencement ceremonies and receive an honorary law degree.

Archbishop Raymond Burke, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, has issued a statement condemning the misuse of a taped interview between himself and pro life activist Randall Terry of Operation Rescue that is being made to look as if he is participating in Terry’s “campaign of severe criticism of certain fellow bishops.”
