The Old Testament events and individuals prefigure or anticipate that which will happen in the New Testament and the persons through whom they will happen. And so it is with Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Who are these women who are harbingers of the Blessed Virgin? What do they have in common with her and how do they point to the significant role she, as a woman, plays in the salvation of the world? And, could it be, that Mary's own pre-eminent calling is a mirror in which we find reflected the very mission God is entrusting to you in our day and time?
