In recent times, we have witnessed an increased resurgence of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, one outgrowth of which has been a devotional practice known as Consecration to Jesus Through Mary. Unlike most devotions of the Church, consecration to Jesus by way of the Blessed Mother is meant to be a way of life, a giving over of oneself to Our Lady to be led by her to her Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. In this series of programs, our guest will trace the history of true devotion to Mary, couch it neatly in St. John Paul II’s “theology of consecration and entrustment,” and detail for us some of the finer Mariological and theological points of Marian mediation and analogy.
