WGR11859 - St. Therese of Lisieux: The Playwright, Part 2
Guest: Susan Conroy.
Yesterday, our guest, Susan Conroy, talked with us about a unique and little-known role that was filled by St. Therese of Lisieux in the closing years of her life. She became for her Carmel, a playwright, charged with the duty to compose eight theatrical presentations. These “pious reflections” as they are known in the French, would be performed on special feast days and days of celebration in her convent. Of the eight, certain of them were her favorites, and offer us great insight into the soul of this charming and astute Doctor of the Church. Today, we’ll continue our discussion.
