Every election cycle is important and calls for discernment, wisdom, and prayerful consideration regarding the candidates’ positions and the planks in his or her platform. And this upcoming election is no different. In fact, such consideration may never have been more important. Are there basic principles Catholics should follow when evaluating a candidate? What are the key issues facing us in this coming election? Are some more important than others or are they all equal in weight? And, to what extent should our faith dictate our vote?
