Crisis is nothing new to the Catholic Church, and neither is scandal. Every day and every age is fraught with its own list of misdeeds and misconduct.

And so it is that we come to our own day and time, and the challenges we are now facing in the Church, particularly the sex abuse scandal.

What measures should be taken? Does the laity have a role to play and if so, what would it be? How do we as laity navigate the questions, ridicule, and criticism of those we know and love?
