The tiniest of seeds holds within its shell the treasures of life. Planted in the ground, nurtured and cared for, the seed yields to the pressure of the soil even as the soil permeates its nutty exterior.

New life springs forth from this two-fold action and, in time, the labor of the enterprise reveals itself in bud and fruit delighting, inspiring, nourishing both body and soul, each season producing a fresh harvest.

So, also, the seasons of the spiritual life. They, too, offer themselves as seedbeds which when planted with seeds of the spirit receives them, nurtures them, and yields abundance of fruit in the garden of our soul.
