Every Sunday at Mass, and I am certain in our own private prayer life as well, we lift up petitions to God. Supplication that expresses our needs or the needs of others around us.
This is good. It is holy. And it is efficacious. We often call this kind of prayer intercession. But, is it? Or, is intercession something different? Something that requires more of us? A greater act of self-giving more in union with Christ’s intercession?
And, does woman have a special affinity for this type of prayer? If so, why?
