WGR11156 - Dismantling Woman: Hijacking the Feminine, Part 2
3/7/2017
(Program WGR11156) Guests: Sue Ellen Browder
A staff writer at Cosmo Magazine, in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, Sue Ellen Browder didn’t know she was a pawn in a propaganda campaign to create a dramatic shift in the culture’s perspective of woman.
But, nonetheless, that she was. Falling into the trap of writing half-truths, limited truths, and truths out of context for the sake of career and its advancement, it became increasingly difficult not to be deceived herself.
But deception was part of the game. Today, she is going to share with us the quintessential moment when the coalescing of two activist movements caused what may be the biggest cultural shift of the 20th century and ultimately hijacked women.
