In 1981, Marilyn Quirk of Metairie, Louisiana, founded Magnificat, an international private association of the lay faithful for women. To date, there are 86 chapters of Magnificat in countries including the United States, Canada, Trinidad/Tobago, Poland, and Ireland.

With me here today is Kathy McGinnis, Coordinator of Magnificat’s Central Service Team, the governing body of the apostolate.
