What happens when we die with unrepented sin? And what happens to the temporal effects of our sin - the side effect of sin that lingers even when we have repented? Church teaching tells us that God has made provision for these instances. And that provision is Purgatory. The word conjures up all sorts of images and impressions. Some view it as a fiery furnace, an inferno, where people are purified by great physical suffering. Still others picture it as a dark and depressive place, a dungeon-like prison where souls do time for their sins. Others don't picture it at all - convinced that it is a fable only, and doesn't really exist. Our guest shares with us about purgatory and helps us understand what the Church really teaches.
