Some people like to save things – souvenirs, mementos, treasures from our childhood or those of our children, lovely things bequeathed to us by cherished relatives. And some people like to collect - stamps, coins, figurines, china plates, and dishes. Still other people, a small but significant population, hoard. These individuals save and collect just about anything and struggle to give up even one thing. They seem powerless to overcome their habit and friends and loved ones feel powerless to help them. It could be that our unorganized mess is the symptom of a deeper emotional or psychological issue that needs treatment or therapy.
