St.Rose Philippine Duchesne led a mission of five nuns to St. Louis in 1818 and is one of Johnnette's favorite saints. Her work at the Sugar Creek Mission endeared her to the Potawatomi who gave her the name of “Kwah-kah-kum-ad,” the Woman Who Prays Always. Johnnette shares the story of how she got the name.
