One of my favorite quotes from St. Teresa of Calcutta consists of three short words. The saint simply says to us, “Faithfulness, not success.”

In a world that encourages us to perform on the basis of productivity, and a success equation very different from God’s, we are apt to forget that God only calls us to put one foot in front of another and move forward.
