Host: Johnnette Benkovic
“Unite your heart with God. And especially, in the midst of temptation, protest ceaselessly that you die instantly rather than consent to the least venial sin.” These are the words of St. Damien Of Molokai on this his feast day and read by host Johnnette Benkovic on today’s WOMEN OF GRACE. Johnnette tells how we must seek grace day by day just a St. Damien did when he took care of lepers. It is a sin to not stay away from a sin. We must strive for perfection for Christ.
We must be the light in the darkness . Johnnette asked how do you light a candle instead of cursing the darkness. Caller Dylan says we must light the darkness of the world with charity. God gives us the matches for the light. We must use them. Johnnette agrees that Jesus uses us to light the world. Richard called and said we must strive for world peace but we must do it a little at a time in our own areas. Johnnette suggest we pray for peace a day at a time. Maybe one day a week just for that prayer. Pat and his son are taking big steps to light the darkness by going to Ireland to protest the vote for abortion in the country. Listen to Johnnette’ s word to them on WOMEN OF GRACE.
These are the words of Bishop Gregory Parkes on today’s Women of Grace. He is the bishop of host Johnnette Benokvic and the diocese of St. Petersburg Florida. This past weekend Bishop Parkes consecrated the diocese of St. Petersburg to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to a standing room only crowd. He explained the relationship he and many priests have with Our Blessed Mother. He explains that Mary points the way for Jesus help in leadership. We must draw closer to her Son. Johnnette agrees that Mary ‘mothers’ us to Jesus.
Caller Emily asked how do we live the consecrated life. Bishop Parkes explains that we must pray the Rosary everyday. Any Marian devotions or prayers help and make sure you share with the children. Bishop Parkes share a story of an altar server who had not heard of the devotion to Mary and asked to Bishop to pray for him to become closer to Our Lady. Caller Joanna asked how she could share this devotion with her grandchildren. Listen to Johnnette and the Bishop’s answer on today’s WOMEN OF GRACE.
