Strong Women Host Johnnette Benkovic celebrates the birthday of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI on today’s WOMEN OF GRACE. Some of her favorite books are his while Cardinal Ratzinger. His writings remind us that the Holy Spirit will transform us into holy men and women. Christian mediation is important in that transformation. We need to be like Stephen in today’s Mass readings. Stand tall with wisdom and spirit as we speak. With God we have nothing to fear and we will be strong.

Caller Maya wanted to know about the strong women of the Old Testament. What can we learn from women like Esther, Ruth and Judith? Johnnette is happy to say we learn a lot as did Our Lady. Mary was from the line of David and with all she went through she leaned on the women who came before her. Anndrea called in and wanted a definition for “Self-Love.” Johnnette says there are many confusing definitions but know that we are made in the image and likeness of God. We are God’s children. We are loved by God. Therefore we must love what God has made. We must love ourselves so we can love our neighbor as ourselves. Diego on Youtube asked if you can go to Heaven just by being good.
