An attempt by an unidentified man to bully a little girl out of selling lemonade because she didn’t have a license ended up backfiring by making her lemonade stand the most popular stop in town.

The Daily Mail is reporting on the lemonade stand which was being run by Jasmine LaRoche of Discovery Bay, California when a man approached and chided her for not having a license.

In an interview with Frank Somerville of KTVU, Jasmine’s father, Richard LaRouche explained what happened next.

"The man just pulled up next to her and asked for her business license and then told her ‘I’m calling the police’ and then got on the phone and began speaking as if he was talking to police. She was so scared that she came home crying and sobbing and said she didn’t want to go to jail."

Richard immediately tried to soothe her, telling her that "some people are just negative and are looking to bring others down.”

He then proceeded to publish an account of the episode on Facebook.

“Whoever the man (I wouldn’t call you that if I didn’t have to) was that threatened to call the police on my daughter for her lemonade stand, you are seriously pathetic," he wrote. "We allowed her only one hour to go there. Seriously, she was there ten minutes and you threatened her. She is trying to do something constructive with her time and you hassled her for no good reason. . . You’re the reason why kids lack ambition nowadays, fear caused by schmucks like you, you are a sad individual. She said you picked up your phone and said you were calling the police. We all know you did that to intimidate her, just sad and pathetic.”

The post went viral and even Jasmine was shocked by the response.

"I told her how much our community supported her when I posted what happened,” Richard said. “She was so surprised and encouraged."

He then set up a second lemonade stand on the family’s property and said “she was busy the whole three hours. Ran out of cookies and had just enough lemonade for the last two police officers."

We will probably never know the name of the coward who did this, but his attempts to bully a little girl into shutting down her lemonade stand seriously backfired.
