Only one enmity

October 30
“God has fashioned and shaped only one enmity, and that an irreconcilable one, which will endure and even increase, until the end. It is that between the Virgin Mary and the Devil, between the children and servants of the Blessed Virgin and the children and accomplices of Satan; so that the most terrible of the enemies of Satan created by God is Mary, his Blessed Mother.”
-St. Louis de Montfort
Today’s Reflection:
How fortunate we are to have Mary as our Blessed Mother for always. How can I increase my love and respect for my Blessed Mother?

The greatest saints

April 28
Feast of St. Louis de Montfort (1673-1716)
“The greatest saints, the souls richest in graces and virtues, shall be the most assiduous in praying to our Blessed Lady, and in having her always present as their perfect model for imitation and their powerful aid for help.”
-St. Louis de Montfort, True Devotion to Mary
Today’s Reflection
According to St. Louis de Montfort, how rich in grace and virtue might my soul be? To what extent can I increase my devotion to the Blessed Mother and her intercession?

Lenten Journey Through the Sorrows of Mary: Sanctification of souls

February 18
“God has willed to make use of Mary for the sanctification of souls, having already made use of her to bring about the Incarnation.”

-St. Louis de Montfort

For Reflection:

Consider this quote in light of the First Dolor. How does it apply to Simeon’s prophecy to Our Lady about the sword in her heart? In what way does this apply to her spiritual motherhood? Personally, how have you seen Mary both “birth” Jesus in your heart and work toward your own sanctification?

Highest Dignity

December 30
“God could make a bigger world or a wider sky, but He could not raise a pure creature higher than Mary, for the dignity of Mother of God is the highest dignity that can be conferred on a creature.”
-St. Bonaventure

Sometimes, when it is most needed, the Holy Spirit inspires a new book just brimming with the capacity to effect great positive change, not only in the Catholic world, but even more important, in the world at large. The recently released Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father, by Father Donald Calloway, MIC, is just such a book. In circulation only since January 2020, it has produced a ripple effect for good, much needed for this troubled time in our Church and our world.

Establishing the Kingdom of God

October 11

For myself, I know of no better way of establishing the kingdom of God, Eternal Wisdom, than to unite vocal and mental prayer by saying the holy Rosary and meditating on its fifteen mysteries.

Intentional Prayer

October 4

The second fault commonly committed in saying the Rosary is to have no intention other than that of getting it over with as quickly as possible.

Asking for Special Graces

October 3

Take great care to avoid the two pitfalls that most people fall into during the Rosary. The first is the danger of not asking for any graces at all. So, whenever you say your Rosary, be sure to ask for some special grace or virtue, or strength to overcome some sin.” (See tomorrow’s Graceline for the second pitfall).

                                                                        -St. Louis de Montfort

Today’s Reflection:

What special grace or virtue will I ask to obtain when I say my Rosary today? Is there a sin I need the strength to overcome? What is it? I will tuck this intention into my prayer as well.
