California Judge Says Children Have No Need of Mothers or Fathers

Experts studying the controversial decision overturning California’s ban on same-sex marriage say U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn R. Walker based the ruling in part on his finding that children do not need a mother and/or a father, even though the evidence he used distinctly said not enough studies were available on the subject.

US Bishops Decry Court Decision on Same-Sex Marriage

Cardinal Francis George, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, decried the August 4 decision of a federal judge to overturn a California voters’ 2008 initiative known as Proposition 8  that protected marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Activist Judge Overturns Proposition 8

In a ruling that few found surprising, U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker, who is openly homosexual, has ruled that California’s voter-approved constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, popularly known as Proposition 8, is unconstitutional.
