Under cover of darkness, Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, arrived in Ontario, Canada, Sunday night to rescue Baby Joseph Maraachli from the London Health Sciences Centre and see him safely transferred to a Catholic hospital in St. Louis.

The plight of Baby Joseph Maraachli, whose family wants to bring the terminally ill child home to die, remains in limbo as the family’s new lawyer plans to appeal the case to Canada’s highest court, and the hospital is refusing to release medical records to doctors in Michigan who are willing to help.

Some of the country’s top pro life organizations are rallying to the aid of baby Joseph Maraachli in an attempt to get him into a hospital in the United States where he can escape attempts by a Canadian hospital to remove his ventilator and let him die.

The saga of baby Joseph Maraachli took another sad turn yesterday when the hospital where he is being treated said they are willing to release the boy to his parents, but without the tracheostomy that will allow him to breathe until he dies naturally.
