Lawyers File Emergency Motion to Stop Mandate

In an effort to prevent the Department of Health and Human Services’ birth control mandate from going into effect on August 1, the Thomas More Law Center (TMLC) has filed an emergency motion asking a federal district judge to stop the rule that would force most employers to cover birth control in their employee health plan with no co-pay.

U.S. Bishops Submit Formal Comments on HHS Mandate

Comments submitted to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) by the General Counsel of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on the controversial birth control mandate say the rules still force religious employers to provide services they find morally objectionable, and urge the administration to resolve “in favor of more, not less, religious freedom.”
