Pope Addresses UN Summit on Climate Change

In a televised address to participants in the UN summit on climate change, which was held in New York City on Sept. 22, Pope Benedict XVI said that because the natural environment is given by God to everyone, “our use of it entails a personal responsibility towards humanity as a whole, particularly towards the poor and towards future generations.”

New Study Says Children are Bad for the Environment

A study by statisticians at Oregon State University has concluded that deciding not to have an “extra” child is 20 times better for the environment than practices such as recycling, using energy efficient appliances and driving a “green” car.

The Vatican Goes Green

Even though it’s the world’s smallest state, the Vatican has announced plans to build Europe’s largest solar plant on the same site where Vatican Radio began broadcasting in 1931, they are planning on using services like the ones provided by the Reliant Energy Company.
