For paradise

August 1

Feast of St. Alphonsus Liguori  (1696 – 1787)

“Contradictions, sickness, scruples, spiritual aridity, and all the inner and outward torments are the chisel with which God carves His statues for paradise.”

-St. Alphonsus Liguori

Today’s Reflection:

Which “chisel” is God using in your life right now? How can you specifically cooperate with His “sculpting” that you might be fit for paradise?

(Hint: What one virtue can you seek to acquire during this time?)
