Former Girl Scouts “Tell All” About Group’s Radical Agenda

Two girl scouts have started a new blog in which they give detailed information about the not-so-wholesome relationship between the Girls Scouts of America (GSA) and Planned Parenthood, radical feminists and communists.

Tess and Sydney Volanski have decided to use some of the skills they learned during eight years of scouting to respond to what they call a “moral imperative” to educate the public about the dangerous relationships that exist between GSA and groups promoting radical agendas in America.

In addition to telling the story of their eight years in the scouts, the blog contains damaging information taken straight out of GSA texts that expose how the group is teaching young girls to embrace abortion, same-sex relationships, and even communism.

“We refuse to remain silent while this organization’s unscrupulous principles mislead over two million girls in the United States alone,” the Volanskis write.

“We created SpeakNowGirlScouts.com in order to spread the truth to others who have no idea what GSUSA’s true intentions are. This website is our way to speak now and we hope it encourages you to do the same!”

According to GSA policy, it does not take a stand for or against any issue regarding a girls’ health and sexuality, takes no position on abortion or birth control and does not align itself with political parties, the Volanskis prove that their printed material tells a much different story.

For instance, on page 25 of a publication entitled BLISS, and page 71 of MEdia, girls are referred to  the pro-abortion website  www.WomensMediaCenter.com. This pro-abortion, ultra-feminist media site contains live links to 27 pro-abortion websites, including Planned Parenthood, NARAL/Pro-Choice America, The Abortion Access Project, and ACCESS. “Does this sound ‘neutral’ to you?” the girls ask in their blog.

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood Clinic director who quit after witnessing an ultra-sound during an abortion, confirmed on several occasions that the scouts are intimately aligned with Planned Parenthood. On February 25, 2011, she told the Volanskis: “Most of PP’s adolescent health material is sponsored by [GSUSA]…it has their logo on it. GS can receive a badge for work at PP. GS subscribed to PP’s health education curriculum.”

Links to pro-abortion groups are only one part of the problem. For instance, in another publication aimed at fourth- and fifth-grade girls, the play Simply Maria is highlighted. This play mocks childbirth, motherhood, homemaking, purity and marriage.

In another publication entitled, AMAZE, girls are encouraged to visit www.astrolog.org which is full of New Age references. The same publication also refers them to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) which advocates for sexual rights for youth.

In another publication, The Power of Advocacy, radical feminists and lesbians are presented as “Voices for Good.” These include Pauli Murray, a feminist lawyer, ordained priest, and co-founder of the National Organization for Women. Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, labor leader, activist, feminist, founding member of ACLU and chairwoman of the American Communist Party is also presented as a role model, as is lesbian tennis champion Billie Jean King.

“In all of the Journeys books we reviewed, pro-abortion champions are promoted constantly, as well as advocates of the same-sex lifestyle,” the Volanskis write. “A pro-life champion was only found one time in our review (though her pro-life views were not mentioned at all). Where are the rest of the pro-life champions? Where are the advocates for the sanctity of marriage? Where is the neutrality?”

Their blog also lists a website people can go to that uses a timeline to detail the descent of the Girl Scouts from a once wholesome scouting group to just another indoctrination program.

“It was a very difficult experience to discover that we had unknowingly been promoting and supporting a group that stands for the opposite of the beliefs we hold deeply in our hearts,” the Volanskis writes. “We want to do everything we can to prevent this heartbreak for other girls and their families.”
