To give you a future and a hope

August 5

“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
-Jeremiah 29:11
Today’s Reflection:
Our God is not the Deist’s God, who created the universe, wound it up like a clock, and then left it to itself.  No, the Christian God, the God of the Bible, the God whose Son, Jesus Christ, founded the Catholic Church, is intimately involved in the history and destiny of the world.
But not only that, our God is intimately involved and lovingly concerned with each person who lives in that world, for He has made all men in His image and likeness–and His ultimate desire is that each one spends all eternity with Him in heaven.  In this, we can place our hope, our faith, and our confidence.
How are you tempted to believe that God is not fully present and active in your life?   What challenges do you have accepting His love in each minute and detail of your life?  Give it to Him today and ask Him to show you how much He loves you.
